Where does the sale take place?

The sale is held exclusively on-line in www.theauction.online

When does the sale take place?

The Auction starts on December 10 at 12:00 CET and ends on December 12 from 9:00PM CET.

Extra Time rule

The end of the sale is set from 09:00PM CET. The "extra time" rule is applied to this sale. Each bid placed 10 minutes before the end allows all other bidders 10 extra minutes to place a final bid. The end of the sale is therefore postponed to 9:05pm (8:55pm + 10 minutes). This rule applies as many times as necessary.

Where and how can I bid?

To register as a bidder, please click on the "register to bid" button in the top right hand corner of the home page.

After processing your request, The Auction will send you a personal password allowing you to log on to the secure bidding platform.

What commission and taxes apply?

Buyer’s commission is 8% +VAT, applicable to the amount of the final bid.
VAT applies on buyer’s commission at a 21% rate.
VAT applies on the hammer price at a 21% rate, except in the case of horses sold without VAT – this mention is carried on each lot’s presentation page

How do I pay?

Auction sales are considered to be paid cash. As a result, each purchaser must contact The Auction accounts department immediately after the end of the sale and proceed to payment by wire transfer .

When can I take delivery of my purchase?

The buyer will be able to collect the horse purchased when full payment has been received by The Auction.  The costs of transport will be to the charge of the buyer.  

Insurance
The Auction partner’s with insurer Catherine de Buyl who offers policy coverage to clients who acquire new horses and/or embryos at the sale.  The Team at Catherine de Buyl will be available to receive request from new owners as soon as the sale end.For Embryos, a specific policy has been negotiated for The Auction clients.  The contract covers mortality of the foetus from the day of the sale until 120 days after birth, with the insured capital being doubled for free if the foal is healthy after 48 hours.
Vet. protocole

The Auction partners with Bosdreef Equine Hospital and DMV Filip Vandenberghe for veterinary files.
The Auction and Bordreef have establish a strict and comprehensive protocol for the Horses on sale at the Auction which includes an extensive set of X-rays, a clinic examination, endoscopy and Pyro testing. This process is made to guarantee the buyers an expert opinion and full transparency about the horse’s conditions.
